What is the meaning of being an emerging artist, What implications the term “emerging” has and how can the art market influence the artist’s career and life path?

An emerging artist would be a personal connotation to how I feel about it. To me that is all about confidence. I think that maybe completing an MA in an art subject is really good to get that confidence to show your work in an exhibition of standard level where it can lead you to other industry contacts and to understand more the city, where to get the material from and stuff like that.
On the other hand outside of the academic environment its hard to get new work featured in exhibitions unless you have and make contacts, thats why we need as much exposure as possible.
In my mind I identify an emerging artist as somebody in their early 20's and late 20's, recently graduated, with a couple of shows done, probably educated to a certain level, really poor person or not rich in any sort of way.
The term "emerging", in my opinion de-values the value of work sometimes as its not from a recognized artist. Although on the other hand it does make you perceive the artwork is fresh and possibly innovative.
In our contemporary art the artists can get lost in the whole emerging scene, due to many distracting factors such as money and social factors. And the 'scene' can be very clicky, with back slapping notorious in contemporary art. My advise is to do your own thin and stay true to your own work and what will be will be.
This term implies a psychological fact for sure, its a restrictive term, that maybe slows
someone like me from producing new work.
