What is the meaning of being an emerging artist, What implications the term “emerging” has and how can the art market influence the artist’s career and life path?
In my opinion the meaning of being an "emerging artist” is to be a person with artistic background, which is also looking for a way to break into art market.
In my personal opinion every single artist has to work everyday to get enough money from selling works to pay bills, like all people do. That could also mean, that she/he will be forced to leave her/his personal artistic ambitions and focus on creating art that might be interesting for those who will pay. And this of course means to interfere into artistic identity.
To create an art and to sell it are two different things – Each one have its own rules.
In both cases the term emerging is a commercial term and a psychological fact.
