What is the meaning of being an emerging artist, What implications the term “emerging” has and how can the art market influence the artist’s career and life path? 

I think in order to understand the implications of talking about 'emerging artistis' one should first define what an artist is and only then could explain what it means to be 'emerging'. That of course would be incredibly lengthy and not the aim of this piece.
I have a feeling that too often the term 'emerging artist' in used in the art industry in connection with fame. In terms of personal growth, an 'artist' will be 'emerging' constantly, that is, will be always growing and evolving as an artist. There is not artist, in my opinion who is NOT emerging. In relation to the arts industry nonetheless 'emerging artist' seems to be used to indicate an artist who is increasingly gaining popularity or recognition. The term emerging artist therefore can be ambivalent although i think that in general usage it is mainly used a commercial construct.
